Alexander Logozarov – Electric Guitar | Compositions
Mihail Ivanov – Double Bass | Compositions
Martin Hafizi – Drums
The three musicians come together for the first time in this lineup. What unites them is their shared passion for original and improvised music, as well as the fact that all three have completed their studies at various conservatories in the Netherlands (Groningen, Amsterdam, Rotterdam). The group will perform compositions by Alexander Logozarov and Mihail Ivanov, which stylistically can be described as modern jazz.
Alexander Logozarov is a guitarist and composer working in the field of jazz and improvisational art. He graduated from the conservatory in Groningen, the Netherlands, where he studied under some of the leading figures of both the local and New York scenes. He performs and releases original music with his band Space Kadillak, his project with Pavel Terziyski, and is also a co-author of the debut album by Lilia Ilieva and Minimum Quartet. As a bandleader or guest, Alexander is one of the most active artists on the Bulgarian club and festival scene.
Mihail Ivanov is a Bulgarian bassist and composer. He has been active on the European jazz scene since 2007, when he joined Bodurov Trio for their performance at the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam. The following year, he won the Dutch Jazz Competition with Blazin' Quartet and received the “NORMA Best Soloist Prize 2008.” His versatile playing has led to collaborations with artists such as Magic Malik, Theodosii Spassov, Antoni Donchev, Alexia Vassiliou, Itamar Borochov, Lizz Wright, Michael Mossman, and others.
Martin Hafizi, drummer and composer, holds a bachelor's degree in jazz and a master's in pop music from the conservatory in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Over the years, Martin has won numerous international awards, including Keep an Eye: The Records with his original project Half Easy Trio, and the Erasmus Jazz Prize. He performs actively across Europe and Asia – at the Jarasum Jazz Festival (South Korea), Taichung Jazz Festival (Taiwan), Trondheim Jazz Fest (Norway), Jammin' Juan (France), Tbilisi Jazz Festival (Georgia), Jazzfestival Leibnitz (Austria), Plovdiv Jazz Festival (Bulgaria), and more.
