YOUR HOST: ROBIN TUCEK

Robin Tucek is the founder of Master of Malt, the Malt Whisky Association, and the whisky brand Blackadder.

He is also the founder of Blackadder International, a family-owned independent bottling company for spirits, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

Robin developed a bottling philosophy focused on keeping the spirit as close as possible to its natural state in the cask.

Blackadder’s flagship Raw Cask range can even contain some of the natural sediment from the cask — a testament to the minimal filtration used in the process.

Today, Robin runs the business together with his daughter Hannah and son Michael.

The Blackadder philosophy is simple: never put anything into a bottle unless they are 100% certain it is ready to be enjoyed.

They believe that the high standards they set for their bottlings — and ultimately for their customers — are the reason Blackadder whiskies are enjoyed in around 30 countries.

In addition to the masterclass, you will have the opportunity to meet Robin at the Caldo Whisky Bar stand, where more than 20 limited Blackadder bottlings will be available to taste.

The masterclass will be presented in English with Bulgarian interpretation.

1. Maestro Osmany Cardentey is coming from far away — very far away — to open and taste three exceptional Cuban rums with us:

   → Havana Club Selección de Maestros
   → Havana Club Añejo 15 Años
   → Havana Club Unión — the star of the evening

   Osmany Cardentey is one of Havana Club’s five Maestros del Ron Cubano.

   On this special evening, he will guide us through the art of crafting, ageing and blending Cuban rum, sharing some of the expertise and craftsmanship passed down through generations.

   The tasting begins with Havana Club Selección de Maestros — an extra-aged Cuban rum that showed the world that rum can be enjoyed neat and appreciated as a spirit to be savoured slowly and mindfully.

   It is the result of an exceptional collaboration among the Maestros del Ron Cubano, embodying their collective knowledge, experience and expertise.

   Next comes Havana Club Añejo 15 Años — the ultimate expression of prolonged natural ageing in the Caribbean climate.

   The evening culminates with Havana Club Unión — a special limited edition, revived to showcase the art of blending and the philosophy of continuous ageing.

   While the previous Unión was crafted from three aged rum bases, the new edition brings together four.

   Each ages for longer in a different type and size of cask, adding even greater depth, complexity and harmony to the blend.

   The final composition reflects the perfect balance between the individual rum bases.
